Friday 8-26-2016 WEB HUNT
Get a piece of paper from the substitute teacher. Write down your answers to the questions that I have asked in the WEB HUNT. All of the questions represent places I pass on my way to Tahoe. So as we are driving up highway 395 on our way up to Tahoe, we go through the area of the Blue Cut fire that has been contained and see the devastation of the Mc Donalds Restaurant and the Summit Inn. As we continue are drive and get close to the Sierra Nevada Mountains we now see smoke from a new fire called the Cedar fire. I would like for you to find a webpage that is providing information on this fire. How many acres have been burnt to date in the Cedar Fire and what percentage are they saying it is contained? In your search do not get confused with a 2003 fire in San Diego that was also called the Cedar Fire. In your search use: CEDAR FIRE, AUGUST 2016

3. What happened in 1872 in Lone Pine CA?
4. What was built beginning around 1942 near Lone Pine and Bishop CA. Why was it built?
5. What is the population of Bishop CA? This is one of the largest towns on highway 395.
6. What is the name of the ski resort in mammoth CA and what is the name of the man who is credited with creating the ski resort? How old is he today?
7. What is threatening the sea gulls that visit Mono lake during their migration? Some type of land animal is threatening them what is the animal?
8 Tufa towers forms in Mono lake, how are they formed?
9. What was the largest population of what is now called Bodie Ghost town and what years did it occurred?
10. What is the elevation of Monitor Pass located in CA?
11. What is the depth of Lake Tahoe CA and if Lake Tahoe was drained how deep would it fill the state oh CA?
12. What food on the menu of the Whoa Nelly Deli located in Lee Vining would be your favorite to eat?
13. What is the height of Mt. Whitney?
14. What is the elevation (lowest point) of Death Valley CA?
15. What is the driving distance between Upland, CA and Lake Tahoe?
